Logo Needed

Does anyone know how to design a logo? If so, please let me know if you're interested in lending a design to the club. I was thinking that maybe a contest with some fun and useful MTB type prizes to the winner(s)?

Also, let's all get together for a meeting in November. More to come...

We Love the Ride!!!

If you've come to this page for the first time then WELCOME! Over the next few months, we intend to develop the new Mountain Biking Society for students and friends of the University of Victoria who love to mountain bike, or who maybe just want to try it out.

One reason for me starting this club is because I am new to the area and am looking for people with whom I can ride.

I am an intermediate-advanced level rider and I love riding with people from all walks of life. I started riding while living at SFU and became completely hooked on the sport.

One of the Society's aims should be to promote the sustainable development and shared use of trails around Vancouver Island. Clubs like SIMBA and IMBA have been doing this for many years, so much of the groundwork has already been done by others.

Something that I'm sure most people will be interested in is going on trips to places like Whistler, Mt. Washington and the North Shore as these are some of the best in the world for riding and are virtually on our doorstep. A trip along the Oregon Coast, NoCal or to Utah would be pretty sweet too. Ya just never know...

I'll keep updating the progress of the club and in the mean time I'd love to hear any questions, suggestions or comments about how you would like to get involved. I really want this to be an open minded club where everyone has their say taken seriously, so speak up! My email addy is jordant@uvic.ca, or you can comment on the posts.
